- When painting a wall that is imperfect use a flat paint, it will not be as washable but it sure will hide the imperfections better. If rooms flow into one another use the same paint color it will make the home much more spacious and harmonious
- If the baseboard in a room is smaller than 4 inches in depth, paint it the same color as the wall it will not stick out like a sore thumb. A good suggestion to make your baseboards look bigger is to nail a new molding directly above the existing molding and paint them the same color, no one will ever know
- When placing large chesterfields in a room do not place them against the wall, leave at least 1-foot distance from the chesterfield to the wall. This gives the impression of more space in the room and visually looks better
- Furniture should be in comparable size to the room. Big bulky furniture will not show well in a small room." less is more. Buyers are looking for more space than they have a room full of furniture does not spell lots of room
- When hanging drapes make sure your rods are placed at least 6 inches above the window frame and 4 inches to the side of the window, this gives the impression of more height to a room. Also remember to buy neutral drapes that flow with wall colors
